FSL Pathways for Grades 3 and 6 Students

Parents of Grades 3 and 6 students will be selecting the FSL pathway that they feel would best meet their child’s needs for Grade 4 and Grade 7.  The FSL Pathways package was shared digitally with parent(s)/guardian(s) on February 18.  Parents are reminded to complete the form online to enroll their child in the pathway of their choice. The deadline for this form to be completed was February 26, 2021. Once again If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your child(s) teacher.

Moving 2021-2022 School Year
If you are moving or plan to move for the 2021-2022 school year, we ask that you contact the school to update us with your address and/or intentions to register at another school.  We are in the process of staffing for the next school year, and this is information that plays a very large roll in this process.

We ask Parents to remind our students of the importance of hygiene (washing hands), social distance and mask wearing each day.  We make this a priority each and everyday at school to say these gentle reminders, as the importance of these practices can never be taken for granted.

Bus Lanes
Just a reminder that Bus lanes are off limits to parking, drop off and pick up during the hours of 8:00-8:45 AM and 2:30-3:15 PM. We also remind parents not to enter our parking lot at this time.  This area is an area that we see a great deal of foot traffic with our students and parents who are walking to school.  We ask that you park your cars away from the school and walk to the school using our crosswalk.  Please refrain from dropping off children in the entrance way to the bus loading zone.

Screen Tool
Please continue to use the screening tool for students each and everyday.  It is located on our website. This has been updated with the latest information that OPH sent out to come into practice, February 22, 2021.

Just a reminder to check the OSTA website each morning for cancellations.  If they are not running in the morning alternative methods of transportation will need to be made for both before and after school.  As a reminder please be ready for your pick up site at least 5 minutes before your arrival time, and please be ready to board the bus upon arrival to your stop.  This will assist our Bus drivers with their schedules.

The Provincial Government is now mandating the wearing of masks for all students in Grade 1-12 effective January 25, 2021.  This is a new mandate for students in grades 1-3.  OSTA will also require masks on students in grades 1-12 who take OSTA transportation.  The new expectation is that everyone wears their masks outside.

Lenten Activity
On Friday March 5, our Lenten Activity will be "Hat Day".

March Newsletter
The March Newsletter offers a suggestion for parent(s) / guardian(s) as we approach the warmer weather of spring.  "As the weather begins to warm up (we hope) students are asked to bring in an extra pair of socks and mittens and even change of clothes. Splash pants are also great options at this time of the season. As the snow gets slushy and puddles begin to form, warm, dry clothing for the afternoon recesses is a welcome site for our young, active students". This has often saved parents that trip to school in the middle of the day.
