Concerns of Potentially Dangerous Wildlife
We have been made aware of Coyote sightings on Holy Redeemer Property.  The OCSB have Safe School Policies that address these types of concerns.  All Policies and Procedures are located on our Board Website.  If there are reports of potentially dangerous wildlife near or on school premise, then we would initiate a "Shelter-in-place".  This is part of our Safe Schools Policy. The definition of Shelter-in-Place is this:  A course of action taken by the Principal/designate to contain the movement of persons within the school by locking the exterior doors of the building and not permitting persons to exit the building.  The reasons for Shelter-in-Place will vary but in all cases the persons are not in immediate danger and can continue their daily routine within the confines of the school building

FSL Pathways for Grades 3 and 6 Students

Parents of Grades 3 and 6 students will be selecting the FSL pathway that they feel would best meet their child’s needs for Grade 4 and Grade 7.  Usually, information is sent in the first term Report Card envelope.  Since it is now distributed via the Parent Portal, the FSL Pathways package will be shared digitally to parents.  Parents will complete a form online to enroll their child in the pathway of their choice.

Ash Wednesday Liturgy

The Ash Wednesday Liturgy will be celebrated with Father Jonathan on Wednesday, February 17 beginning at 9:00 AM via a you tube link. Once we receive this link, we will post this link on our website for the Holy Redeemer Community.

Valentine's Day
The Ottawa Public Health medicine unit recommends that we are not to distribute Valentines Cards. This also includes cadies or chocolates. As an alternative to hard copy Valentines Cards we will be looking at using interactive presentation software in place of physical cards.

We ask Parents to remind our students of the importance of hygiene (washing hands), social distance and mask wearing each day.  We make this a priority each and everyday at school to say these gentle reminders, as the importance of these practices can never be taken for granted.

Bus Lanes
Just a reminder that Bus lanes are off limits to parking, drop off and pick up during the hours of 8:00-8:45 AM and 2:30-3:15 PM.

Screen Tool
Please continue to use the screening tool for students each and everyday.  It is located on our website.

Just a reminder to check the OSTA website each morning for cancellations.  If they are not running in the morning alternative methods of transportation will need to be made for both before and after school.  As a reminder please be ready for your pick up site at least 5 minutes before your arrival time, and please be ready to board the bus upon arrival to your stop.  This will assist our Bus drivers with their schedules.

The Provincial Government is now mandating the wearing of masks for all students in Grade 1-12 effective January 25, 2021.  This is a new mandate for students in grades 1-3.  OSTA will also require masks on students in grades 1-12 who take OSTA transportation.  The new expectation is that everyone wears their masks outside.
