FSL Pathways for Grades 3 and 6 Students

Parents of Grades 3 and 6 students will be selecting the FSL pathway that they feel would best meet their child’s needs for Grade 4 and Grade 7.  The FSL Pathways package was shared digitally with parent(s)/guardian(s) on February 18.  Parents will need to complete a form online to enroll their child in the pathway of their choice by February 26, 2021. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your child(s) teacher.

Moving 2021-2022 School Year
If you are moving or plan to move for the 2021-2022 school year, we ask that you contact the school to update us with your address and/or intentions to register at another school.  We are in the process of staffing for the next school year, and this is information that plays a very large roll in this process.  We will also be reaching out to parent(s)/guardian(s) regarding Cross Boundaries.
We ask Parents to remind our students of the importance of hygiene (washing hands), social distance and mask wearing each day.  We make this a priority each and everyday at school to say these gentle reminders, as the importance of these practices can never be taken for granted.

Bus Lanes
Just a reminder that Bus lanes are off limits to parking, drop off and pick up during the hours of 8:00-8:45 AM and 2:30-3:15 PM. We also remind parents not to enter our parking lot at this time.  This area is an area that we see a great deal of foot traffic with our students and parents who are walking to school.  We ask that you park your cars away from the school and walk to the school using our crosswalk. Please refrain from dropping off children in the entrance way to the bus loading zone.

Screen Tool
Please continue to use the screening tool for students each and everyday.  It is located on our website.

Just a reminder to check the OSTA website each morning for cancellations.  If they are not running in the morning alternative methods of transportation will need to be made for both before and after school.  As a reminder please be ready for your pick up site at least 5 minutes before your arrival time, and please be ready to board the bus upon arrival to your stop.  This will assist our Bus drivers with their schedules.

The Provincial Government is now mandating the wearing of masks for all students in Grade 1-12 effective January 25, 2021.  This is a new mandate for students in grades 1-3.  OSTA will also require masks on students in grades 1-12 who take OSTA transportation.  The new expectation is that everyone wears their masks outside.

This was published on a website that is run by the Catholic Charities of USA.  It is from a reflection that the writer William Ward wrote about the Lenten season.
Lent is a season of soul-searching and repentance. It is a season for reflection and taking stock. Lent originated in the very earliest days of the church as a preparatory time for Easter, when the faithful rededicated themselves and when converts were instructed in the faith and prepared for baptism. By observing the forty days of lent, the individual Christian imitates Jesus’ withdrawal into the wilderness for forty days. With in mind…let us read a reflection by William Arthur Ward entitled Fasting and Feasting.

Lent should be more than a time of fasting. It should be a joyous season of feasting. Lent is a time to fast from certain things and to feast on others. It is a season in which we should: Fast from judging others; feast on the Christ dwelling in them. Fast from emphasis on differences; feast on the unity of all life. Fast from thought of illness; feast on the healing power of God. Fast from words that pollute; feast on the phrases that purify. Fast from discontent; feast on gratitude. Fast from anger; feast on patience. Fast from pessimism; feast on optimism. Fast from worry; feast on hope. Fast from complaining; feast on appreciation. Fast from negatives; feast on affirmatives. Fast from bitterness; feast on forgiveness. Fast from self-concern; feast on compassion for others. Fast from discouragement; feast on hope. Fast from suspicion; feast on truth. Fast from thoughts that weaken; feast on promises that inspire.
